2015-2016 School Supply Kit Pick Up
If you ordered a school supply kit, and indicated that you would like to pick it up, they can be picked up on Monday, August 31st from 10am to 1pm in the school cafeteria.  We are looking for volunteers to help out so please contact Jane Rail at jmrail@70@hotmail.com if you are able to help or if you have any questions.

2015-2016 Class Parent Requests
Once again, we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers who are interested in being Class Parents this year.  Class Parents help our teachers by planning class parties and coordinating volunteers and class donations. It’s an enjoyable role and a great way to meet your fellow parents; however the privilege also comes with specific responsibilities and expectations.  Class Parent responsibilities include:
Being a paid member for the PTA for 2015 -2016.
Attending the Class Parent Meeting on Tuesday, September 8th at 6:30pm. (Please mark this date/time on your calendars now.  Unfortunately, there is not much time between when you are notified and the meeting.)
Collecting for teacher gifts and fundraisers.
Attending class parties and class field trip per individual teacher/class needs.
Serving as liaisons between the PTA and the parents by forwarding emails, seeking volunteers and sharing information about upcoming events.
Attending PTA meetings during the year.
Volunteering at the Halloween Carnival (if unable to attend the carnival, finding a replacement).
Volunteering for at least one additional PTA sponsored event throughout the year.

Class Parent Request Forms will be accepted through email only.   Please remember only active (ie: paid) members of the PTA can be considered.  If you are interested in being a Class Parent and have not yet become a member of the PTA for 2015-2016, please complete the attached Membership Form and mail it with your dues to our Membership Chairperson:

We hope that most of the interested parents have an opportunity to experience being a class parent during their time at Accompsett.  Please understand that the number of requests vary per grade level and per class and differs every year.  In the interest of fairness, a parent will only be considered as a Class Parent for two consecutive years for the same class if there are no other volunteers.  If you have any questions, please contact Allyson Gelfand at allysonking@yahoo.com.

Summer Reading Program Reminder
Your students should have received Summer Reading Reports at the end of the school year.  Blank report forms are located under Quicklink.  If your students complete at least 6 reports they will be invited to a special breakfast where they will be recognized by Mrs. Minarik.  All reports are due back to school by Wednesday, Septmeber 16th.  Please contact Kathy Podair at katj929@hotmail.com if you have any questions.
